Adaptive Radiation of Birds

In addition to their flying capacity, many birds can also walk, run, swim and dive into water. A very few birdsuch as swifts and hummingbirds can neither walk nor swim. Because they can fly, they can easily go beyond mountain ranges, oceans and deserts. Consequently, birds have been successful in settling in most land and water areas.
