This group of mammals is from Procaviidae, and they are distributed throughout Africa and the Middle East.Unlike Ungulates, Procaviidaedo not have incisors, but rathereat plants with molars. Another characteristicthey share with primitive mammals is their poor thermal regulation ability. Also, fossil research shows that they are in the same group as elephants andSirenia.
